Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Howl is a premium pet care platform that connects dog owners with vetted, professional caregivers in West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Our platform facilitates the discovery, communication, booking, and payment process between dog owners and independent caregivers.

2. User Accounts

To use Howl, you must create an account with accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years old to use the platform. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3. User Responsibilities

For Dog Owners:

• Provide accurate information about your dog, including health conditions, behavioral issues, and special needs
• Ensure your dog's vaccinations are current
• Communicate any changes in your dog's health or behavior to your caregiver
• Pay for services in a timely manner through the platform

For Caregivers:

• Provide honest and accurate information on your profile
• Deliver care services as agreed upon in each booking
• Communicate promptly with owners about any issues or concerns
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for dogs in your care
• Report any incidents or injuries immediately

4. Booking Policies

All bookings are made through the Howl platform. Payments are processed securely via Stripe. Funds are held in escrow and released to the caregiver 24 hours after the care session ends.

A 15% platform fee is applied to each booking to cover platform operations, payment processing, and support services.

5. Cancellation Policy

• More than 48 hours before start: Full refund
• 24-48 hours before start: 50% refund
• Less than 24 hours before start: No refund
• Caregivers who cancel confirmed bookings may face account review

6. Liability Limitations

Howl serves as a platform connecting dog owners with independent caregivers. We are not responsible for the actions, negligence, or conduct of any caregiver or dog owner. While we vet all caregivers through background checks and interviews, we do not guarantee the outcome of any care session. Users agree to resolve disputes directly, with Howl providing mediation support when requested.

7. Independent Contractor Relationship

Caregivers on Howl are independent contractors, not employees of Howl. Caregivers are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and business obligations. Howl does not control how caregivers perform their services. See our Contractor Agreement for full details.

8. Prohibited Activities

• Creating false or misleading profiles
• Arranging services outside of the Howl platform to avoid fees
• Harassing or threatening other users
• Providing care while impaired
• Any form of animal abuse or neglect

9. Account Termination

Howl reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Users may delete their accounts at any time through their account settings. Upon deletion, all personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
